Anjana Subramoniam

I am Anjana Subramoniam originally from Kerala, India. I received my Bachelors in Agriculture from Kerala Agricultural University and my Masters in Entomology from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. Currently, I am co-mentored by Dr. Bruce O'Hara and Dr. Lauren Whitehurst. I am interested in understanding the neurobiological underpinnings of sleep and memory. To accomplish that, I work on a variety of projects, spanning across both rodent models and humans. My research on humans examines how the autonomic nervous system contributes to sleep and memory. In rodents, I investigate the effects of sleep interventions - both sleep fragmentation and sleep enhancement in Alzheimer’s disease model mice and observe the effects on the progression of the disease.
